How to Wear Rompers
Rompers, playsuits, jumpsuits – whatever you call them, you have to admit they are majorly cute! With the convenience of a dress (just throw it on for an instant outfit!) and the coverage of a pair of shorts (no Marilyn Monroe moments, guaranteed), a romper is the perfect piece to liven up your summer wardrobe. Rompers come in every style imaginable and in a variety of cuts, so you’re guaranteed to find one that’s perfect for you.

I recently heard a fantastic tip on Glamour‘s style blog, Slaves to Fashion. They suggested treating shorts the way you would treat your favorite skirt.
Would you wear your favorite skirt with a blazer, platform peep-toes, and a cute clutch? Then wear your shorts with that (Beyonce did! And 70% of you thought it was a Do). Would you wear your favorite skirt with a sexy flowing top, loads of fabulous jewelry, and an embellished sandal? Then wear your shorts with that (this Best Dressed Reader did, and the “How cute!” comments came rolling in).
Keeping that tip in mind, treat your romper like your favorite dress. This summer, I’m layering my favorite dresses over lace blouses and tanks and wearing vintage scarves as headbands. How do you wear your favorite dresses? Style your romper the same way to seamlessly incorporate the trend into your wardrobe.
I put together two romper looks for you. Read on to see how I styled them!
Look One: Classic Beauty
If you’re new to wearing rompers, this is a great way to ease into the trend. The romper itself is understated; the accessories elevate the ensemble to from casual and cute to chic and sophisticated. Following Glamour‘s rule, I styled this LBR (little black romper!) just like I would style a LBD. My biggest issue with rompers is that they can sometimes be shapeless and swallow up your figure. To solve that problem, I accentuated the waist with a pale pink belt and found adorable matching pink spectator flats. (I love the little bows!) To finish the look, I couldn’t resist including the larger version of my favorite bag and adding a pop of bright coral on the nails!
Look Two: Trendsetter
If you love to go all-out with trends, this is the look for you! I’ve seen this romper in person and it is absolutely adorable. It’s playful, youthful, and a whole lot of fun. Between the ruched top, tribal print, and tropical cool colors, this piece carries a ton of impact. To keep from looking like a walking trend overload, stick to low-key, neutral accessories. I chose a gorgeous shade of caramel brown and carried the color through the sandals, messenger bag, and watch. For a final pop of color, I added cherry red Ray-Bans. The look is definitely show-stopping, so strut your stuff and watch the heads turn!

First of all, this new layout is perfect for you.
More relevant to this post, I like conservative rompers and therefore prefer the first look you planned out. I don’t think I have the guts to wear one though :(
