A Tribute to Alexander McQueen

February 12, 2010

Alexander McQueen passed away yesterday morning. His death was a true loss to the fashion industry. Alexander was more than a designer – he was a true artistic genius, a visionary. His innovative and often controversial designs set the bar high for other designs. His presence in the fashion world was undeniable; season after season, he created beautiful, fascinating collections that were dramatic, riveting, and thought-provoking.

Andrew Bolton, curator of The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, summed up Alexander by saying, “He had the mind of a poet and the heart of an artist.” Always creative, always exciting, his collections transcended fashion and told a story.
