Everyone and Their Mother

June 10, 2010

It appears that everyone and their mother has had their say about the Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Resort 2011 collection, but it is so utterly fantastic that I have to chime in, too. Here are some of my favorite looks, via Style.com:

The tights (left) are incredible! I love the print. The styling on the right is spot on, and so easy to recreate with pieces you already own: a graphic tee, a floral skirt, cool sunglasses, and a tough pair of shoes. The look is girly with a little edge and perfect to try out this summer.

I need both of these looks. Immediately.

The shorts/sweater combo on the left is a much, much chicer version than my outfit here. The socks and sandals are fantastic! As for the look on the right, that dress is exquisite.

The philosophy behind Chloë’s designs is simple. “Girls buy the same silhouette over and over.” The five silhouettes featured in the collection come in five prints – leopard, polka dot, houndstooth, paisley, and floral – and are designed to easily mix and match with a variety of knits, accessories, and shoes. The collection is already a major hit in the blogosphere, and will no doubt sell well when it debuts in stores later this year.

I’m drawn to this collection because the overall aesthetic is girly and youthful, without delving too far into the pink/ruffled/lacy/flouncy territory. The lines are simple, the prints are beautifully done (my favorite is the leopard!), and the majority of the silhouettes appear to be flattering and figure-friendly.

Clearly, I’m a major fan of Chloë’s collection and I want to see more of her designs soon. What do you think? Which looks are your favorite?

xoxo Hannah
