Lookbook: Dream a Little Dream

April 24, 2011

Navy dress (worn as top), Modcloth. Skirt, Topshop. Heels, Steve Madden. Headband, Tasha.

Sometimes, fashion has the power to transport its wearer to another time period. This cotton candy pink midi skirt makes me feel like I traveled a few decades back to hear Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong perform “Dream a Little Dream” – one of my favorite songs – live in a jazz hall. While I’m not ready to give up my mini skirts quite yet, I love that there’s a new silhouette on the horizon.

These shots were taken last week in a little corner of London, sandwiched in between afternoon tea (green mango tea, crumpets, finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and cupcakes – the real deal!) and Legally Blonde: The Musical. Finger sandwiches and midi skirts don’t seem to have quite the same dreamlike effect now that I’m back at home. To recreate that feeling, I’ll just play Fitzgerald and imagine I’m wandering around Europe again. Anyone want to join?

xoxo Hannah

This may be the most perfect midi skirt ever! And I’m not sure why but this outfit feels “so you” to me.
